Heidi Allen

Heidi Allen had been thinking about making a change in her life for some time when she finally stepped into the local Anytime Fitness for the first time last October. Compelled by a family history of health complications, she had a true desire in her heart to make a change for the better.

“I have a long list of family health problems. My mom has degenerative bone disease. She has had both knees replaced due to her extreme weight. At 296 pounds, I had to ride around the grocery store in a motorized scooter. I couldn’t even pick up my grandchild. Something had to give. It was time for a lifestyle change.”

Heidi did not want to walk down the aisle at her daughter’s wedding 150 pounds overweight. She was determined to improve her body, but more importantly, she was determined to improve her sense of self-confidence and self-worth. Heidi investigated personal training at the club immediately after joining. Unfortunately, personal training was an extra expense that she could not afford.

“When I found out I couldn’t do personal training I was really discouraged. I felt that without training I wouldn’t be able to do it. I didn’t think that I could reach the goal I had set on my own.”

Heartbroken by the realization that she might not be able to achieve her goals, Heidi sat inside her truck in tears. A stranger standing next to her in the parking lot proved to be an unexpected source of inspiration. Personal Trainer Lucas Mock, full of encouraging words and motivation, assured Heidi that he would do everything he could to help her reach her goals. Heidi dedicated herself to losing over 100 pounds while gaining the confidence she knew was buried inside her. Heidi’s journey had officially begun.

“Lucas was a huge blessing. He encouraged me and prayed with me. He encouraged me to take it a day at a time and to just do what I could. I was determined to come to the gym five days a week. I wanted to meet my goals.”

Six months later, Heidi hardly misses a day at Anytime Fitness. She has a new strut in her walk and a renewed demeanor. Not only has Heidi lost over 30 pounds, she now knows that she has what it takes to tackle challenges and obstacles in her way. Even though her journey is just beginning, Heidi knows that she will not only reach her goals, but also surpass them as she continues to better herself. By taking things just one day at a time, Heidi has regained control of her life…and has become a new Heidi.

I have just commited 2 years of my life to Anytime Fitness and 1 year to a personal trainer to help me get my life back. I realized after much contemplation, that I owe it to myself to EVERYTHING possible for me to have the very best life has to offer. I do not hesitate to splurge on those I love, but always feels I don’t deserve the same. Well I do…and my journey begins into finding me. This is truly my time.

I felt the same way but I didn’t have the finances to have a trainer so I have watched them train others my age and weight and tried to follow what they did.
