I just walked into the kitchen for a late night snack ( I was craving this greasy bag of potato chips left over from a cook out we had last weekend) And I am proud to say I chose some almonds instead!

First day of swimming laps I wanted to give up. Today was my second day and I made to the otherside of the pool without stopping. Going to my first sprint triathlon in 2 weeks and I’m not giving up.

  • Rosemaryfields

I fell off the wagon a few month ago when life punched me in the face. Today I got out of bed and met with my fellow ninjas and no matter how much I wanted to I didn’t give up. It was one of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done. Today because I started, I won a little bit of me back

I hit the snooze button to skip my cardio this morning, and 5 minutes into extra slumber… I realized I was making a terrible mistake ;) . Felt so good not to give in to the temptation of something I knew I would regret in the long run!

  • pbosneag

Daylight savings has thrown me off a bit, but now that I am up early, I have gotten my workouts in, in the AM.  Really makes the rest of the day go a little more smoothly!

  • April Calderon

  • Briansync

Had a member tell me she put her hair in a ponytail today…doesn’t sound like much, but she said she hadn’t had her hair away from her face for 15 years because she was covering it.  As she’s losing weight she’s also losing her insecurities!!!! How Cool!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jasonmoughon Jason Moughon

A 55-year-old lady member told me that she was getting disappointed that the scale stopped moving down but was telling herself that she was improving bone mass. Yesterday, a test revealed she’s got the bone density of a 22-year-old! “Weight bearing exercise works!” she said.

Had a 55-year old woman member tell me today she was getting a little disappointed that the scale wasn’t going downward anymore but she was telling herself to keep going because working out improved her bone health. Yesterday, a test revealed she’s got the bone density of a 22-year-old! How exciting is that?

I have been working 7 days a week and 10-12 hour days but have trying to keep up a fitness routine. I was tired after a long 12 hour day but still didn’t give in to the fatigue. Instead I put on my workout clothes and went to a fitness class that was really challenging! I was exhausted afterwards but proud of myself.

I was officiating at my daughters swim meet this weekend and was tempted by all the free food that is made available to us. Not only that, but they walk by us during the meet offering candy to us working the meet. I stood my ground and refused all of it having only 5 grapes! I did the right thing by having a protein shake before even going to the meet. Set yourself up for suckcess every chance you get!

My little win of the day (for yesterday) was that during a shift at my restaurant job, I didn’t snack on any of the food and only had a kid sized soda instead of the medium sized one I used to grab! It wasn’t even a conscious effort! So proud of myself!

    • Fitness Rebellion

That is awesome, Ashley. Little steps make a big difference over time. We’re proud of you, too! :)

I registered for a 5k that is at night on August 10th…such a different kind of run, sooo excited!!!

  • JocelynLG

Today I ran my first road 5k (which actually turned out to be 3.88 miles). I ran further than I ever have; and beat my fastest 3 mile record pace to date.  I am 54 years old; and before beginning personal training on January 1 of this year with Jose “Cheloman” Alonzo at Anytime Fitness Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill, Florida; I would barely make it just trying to run the length of our cul de sac.  Chelo has encouraged me to continue to strive to accomplish things I would never have even dreamed of doing.  I am the Program Manager of a Rehab Dept; and have posted a portion of one of his favorite sayings ” Make Today Better than Yesterday”.  This has not only inspired me, but I now pay it forward as I have geriatric patients repeating this quote!  I will always be  grateful to Chelo for all of the changes he is helping me achieve; and am so happy to be on this journey!  Now on to Mud Endeavors in two weeks!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003206632837 Jessica Clum

I registered for my 5th 1/2 marathon this morning!!! Let the training begin.

  • http://www.facebook.com/noelleg159 Noelle Gray-Zingg

I got through my first personal training session with awesome trainer Joe, who kicked my butt to the moon and back, encouraging me to push through, and that i could do it. I was face down on the floor afterwards, but i FINISHED!! A far cry from my last session at another gym facility, when i was not only weighed in the lobby, but the trainer loudly stated my weight out loud for everyone to hear. He then told me i was “half a cow”. I ran out of that gym in tears, never to return. AF has made me feel so welcome and accepted, and for that i am so blessed and thankful.. I’m so excited to be a fitness rebel, and i am so thankful for my new Fitness Rebel Family! Thank you everyone for making me feel so encouraged!

  • http://www.facebook.com/noelleg159 Noelle Gray-Zingg

my victory for the next month is running 26.2 miles for those lost and who may never run again because of the tragedy in Boston. I have never run before, but even as slow as i am, i’ll finish it in their honor.

My little win is seeing my story on the fitness rebellion. It is very humbling to see that someone thinks i can inspire someone out there.

    • Fitness Rebellion

You are most definitely an inspiration, Rachel! Thank you for sharing with us!

  • Nicole Gropp

I ran 30 minutes on the treadmill today and THEN did some free weight lifting for my arms. Who am I?! I feel really good. :-)

    • Fitness Rebellion

That’s so awesome Nicole! Who are you? You’re a Fitness Rebel!

  • Mike O’Donnell

I’m a little run down after a mud run this weekend. I really didn’t want to walk at lunch time. With an extra push. I got out for a 2+ mile walk. Felt great for giving myself that extra push.
