My weakness: is my sweet tooth. Also, the fact that I was raised on a farm means that steak and potatoes is one of my favorite meals.
What keeps me motivated: Setting short-term goals keeps me motivated. When I see more definition in my muscles, realize I can run a five-mile race, or even lift five pounds more, it’s a reminder that I can achieve bigger things over an extended period of time.
Working Out Sucks, but: I know I need to take care of myself so I can be the leader in my family and help others. Plus, working out helps keep me sane and happy!
I feel my best when: I kick butt at my workout! My muscles may ache, but I feel energized and ready to go. Dominating a workout and battling through a tough set makes me feel like I can accomplish anything. Workouts will not get the best of me!
If I could tell the world one thing about exercise and fitness it would be: that you are truly a happier person when you workout. Exercise reveals strength you don’t always realize you have. It boosts confidence, and clears your head. You will never regret a workout, you will only regret not doing it!
The hardest thing I have ever had to overcome in my life: was being the tall, skinny, awkward kid that hated PE class! As I got older, people would make rude comments about me being “lucky” because I was skinny. It became demoralizing. I decided to start going to the gym and lifting weights so I could build muscle and put on some size. As I started to build muscle and make changes to my diet, I began to notice a change in my body and attitude as well. I realized I wasn’t “the skinny girl.” I was healthy and felt good. At that point, I decided I wanted to help other people understand their bodies and teach them how to live healthier, happier lives. No matter what a person’s shape or size, people need to understand how to make their bodies a vessel for life!
