Week 11 Fitness Journey
Week 8 Journal Entry

Today Noelle is officially down 58 pounds...rather than doing a journal update like we usually do, we are sharing Noelle's status update from Saturday night:

Something amazing happened to me this morning that i'll never forget...
Most of my facebook friends know how hard i've struggled with my weight my whole life...i've been shamed, bullied, ridiculed,and mentally and physically abused because of it...i've never had the courage or self esteem to stand up to being bullied about my weight until today..
I was in the grocery store buying a bottle of water. Behind me were 2 girls whispering (the kind loud enough to be heard) 'that girl in front of us needs to go on a diet big time!' when i heard that, my mind immediately flashed back to the day my trainer at another gym told me i weighed as much as half a cow. That night i contemplated suicide because i was so tired of being shamed. I thought about how hard i've worked over the past 10 weeks, and the amount of support i have now... I turned to the girls and said 'i am on a diet...i've lost 52 pounds in 10 weeks. I've puked, sweated, cried, and shed blood for my body....and i look GOOD!!' having said that, i grabbed my water and walked out. I have no clue what they said after that, nor do i care. That is the first time in my life i've stood up to being bullied about my weight. I've always agreed with the bullies...not this time...i don't think i've ever been more proud of myself than i was at that moment...sure, i have plenty more to go...but i'll be damned if i'll let bullies bring me down any more...no way!! i'm learning to love myself...and it sho' does feel fine!!

  • 05.14.2013Mike O'Donnell:I'm a little run down after a mud run this weekend. I really didn't want to walk at lunch time. With an extra push. I got out for a 2+ mile walk. Felt great for giving myself that extra push.
  • 05.08.2013Nicole Gropp:I ran 30 minutes on the treadmill today and THEN did some free weight lifting for my arms. Who am I?! I feel really good. :-)
